Nahur East

This is how Nahur looked during winter.
Nahur, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
2013 Winter
This location is right besides Neelam Group's Tower at Nahur East. When this picture was clicked, this site was under construction. We used to come here early in the morning to jog/breath some fresh air, and this place is still one of the favorite spots for joggers and cyclists to hang around early in the morning. I hope that five years down the road this area will be developed and this picture perhaps would serve as one of the great memories.

Are you as passionate about the work that you do for your living?

Work and Passion: I couldn't find a better title for this post.

I was loafing around the other day as I had nothing of any significance to do with my life. -- Okay. Now that was too much of a pun on myself.

Well, as usual, I was carrying a smartphone along with me. As I was passing by, I saw this truck parked at the side of the road. Here's the picture of that truck below:

A heart-touching line by a truck driver. "मुझे  क्या पता  था की वतन मेरा सफ़र होगा।  स्टीयरिंग में जान जायेगी तब तरपाल मेरा कफ़न होगा"

मुझे  क्या पता  था की वतन मेरा सफ़र होगा।  स्टीयरिंग में जान जायेगी तब तरपाल मेरा कफ़न होगा।

While clicking this pic, the driver came to me to see what I was exactly trying to do. I asked him what did this mean. He explained it to me, which is kind of hard to frame in English for me:

Translated text: (And, I have given my best shot at it :) Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong)

मुझे  क्या पता  था की वतन मेरा सफ़र होगा।: What I knew that my country would be my journey.
स्टीयरिंग में जान जायेगी तब तरपाल मेरा कफ़न होगा।: When I'll be dead on the steering, they will be covering my body with the तरपाल.
तरपाल?  तरपाल means the thick plastic-like material that we see in this picture that is used to shelter the goods that the trucks carry. It could also be some kind of thick cloth.

I later on learned that when a truck driver dies in an accident while he is on duty, the other drivers stop by the accident zone and cover the driver's body with this particular cloth on his truck.

His journey for the last time is over...
